The event is dedicated to building partnerships and trade between businesses in China and countries across Africa. In attendance will be CEOs, Trade Ministers, Managing Directors, Project Financiers, Venture Capitalists, National and International Development Directors, Director Generals, National Managers, and Overseas and Export Directors, from organisations including Banks, IT/Telecom, Sports and Leisure, Power and Energy, Agriculture, Tourism, and Health and Medicare. They will contribute to a dynamic programme reflecting the growing partnerships in Africa benefitting from Chinese investments.

The China Africa Business Summit Programme Committee is inviting businesses and organizations committed to building partnerships between China and Africa to attend and contribute to building environments of trust and partnerships in the plenary sessions, exhibitions and workshops.

The business summit is structured to create opportunities for businesses with interests in Africa seeking to engage Chinese partnerships, and to develop better understanding through mutual exchanges of ideas about tangible business opportunities in both China and Africa. The business summit will endeavor to add quality partnerships to those already existing between Chinese and business interest in Africa and to encourage SMEs and other minority interests across business communities in Africa to consider collaborations and partnerships in pursuit of opportunities in the markets of China and Africa. The Organizers anticipate strong agreements to further business and trade on both sides at the business summit.

The business summit will attempt to further the goals of the Sino - African relationship established at Beijing in 2006. It will do this by establishing a blueprint for cooperation and engagement for businesses seeking partnerships across industries in their respective countries.

The Summit Program will commence with a one hour plenary session containing opening presentations from political and business leaders. The plenary session will set out guidelines for developing cooperation between businesses in China and Africa and promote the principles and objectives set out in the Beijing Declaration and the Program for China -Africa Cooperation in Economic and Social Development.

The summit sessions which takes place in the mornings, are interactive and are designed to produce instant responses leading into high quality networking and collaborations inside the workshops taking place in the afternoons. The environment is designed to lead to partnerships and tangible agreements, benefiting Sino African business relations.

Papers could also address topics from the Summit sessions which could be discussed in the Workshops. Past experience shows that this allows for continuation of the discussion from summit to workshops and is very effective. There will be a separate call for posters and films.

The event will contain a one hour plenary session and four summit sessions (joint panel audience discussion), which will be chaired by an expert in the subject field. The summits are for formal presentations of papers dealing with technical, economic, and commercial issues, and are required to relate to one of the four specific industries on the agenda. These industries are:

Agriculture

Power and Energy

Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare

Tourism
