EVENT HIGHLIGHT - SECOND PANEL DISCUSSION |
Second Panel discussion on cross border cooperation. Africa has seen great development due to the increasing economical and political regional cooperation over the past half century. However, the process has been slow, with failure to reach goals set to optimize regional performances, especially in health related issues. This is why cross border cooperation is more than ever crucially needed to improve the fight against infectious diseases and other public health concerns, such as diabetes. The Panel discussion will highlight the benefits of increased cooperation across Africa to prevent major epidemics, improve impact of public health policies, scale up interventions and partnerships, and create the enabling environment. The discussion will also focus on the role of key partners to develop cross border cooperation and will identify next steps in the Ecowas region. Chaired by Drs. Alexandra Graham, La Gray Pharmaceutical Ltd and co-chaired by Therese Lethu, GBC.
