EVENT HIGHLIGHT - FIRST PANEL DISCUSSION

Panel discussion: The contribution of the oil and gas industry to the fight against AIDS, TB and Malaria in Nigeria.
The oil and gas industry has the potential to take the lead to fight against AIDS, TB and malaria, given the economic and social impact this industry has on local society. Building on the experiences of this sector and the lessons learned from current examples, the panel discussion will highlight the mutual health-related goals for project operators and contractors, factors of success, tools to simplify collaboration, and key actions to scale-up health related activities. The discussion will also focus on the potential role of this industry to develop a new standard of HIV/AIDS prevention and management, including a norm for risk recognition .

Chaired by Dr. Rilwanu Lukman, former Secretary General of OPEC and Presidential Advisor on Oil and Gas, co-chaired by Therese Lethu, GBC .
