Dr. James Stalker
Dr. Stalker's professional interests include computational atmospheric research for improving short-term weather forecasts (e.g., of precipitation). His research interests also include developing highly accurate atmospheric models for various applications, supercomputing technologies, peer-reviewed publications, etc. He has widely published in peer-reviewed and trade journals. Dr. Stalker developed parallel supercomputing facilities to provide regional weather forecasting products to many different industries such as regional water managers, airlines, etc. He has over 18 years of experience using the mesoscale atmospheric model, Regional Atmospheric Modeling System (RAMS), in its application to regional applications such as precipitation studies at various temporal/spatial scales. James strongly believes that cutting edge atmospheric models should be put to good use to help the wind energy sector. James presents at research and trade conferences, serves on discussion panels, etc. to create much needed awareness, among Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) model product users, for widespread global adoption of such products. Dr. Stalker has been a strong supporter of and an advocate for making renewable energy sources a prominent part of U.S. national energy portfolio.

Derek Batte
Derek is the National Programme Leader of the Working for Energy programme, an initiative by the South African Department of Energy to create sustainable energy through renewables in the rural communities across South Africa.As part of his portfolio in the renewable and energy efficiency domain, Derek sits on numerous corporate bodies, committees, international working groups and knowledge clusters. He was Head of External Audit Unit at the Centre for Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs from 1981 to 1984.
Recruited by the ECOWAS1 Bank of Investment and Development (EBID) in 1985, and has occupied the following positions: Head of Division, Operational Policies and Procedures from 1985 to 2003; Director of the NEPAD and Resources Mobilization Unit from 2003 to 2005; Director of Studies and Strategic Planning from 2005 to 2007 and Director of the African Bio-fuels and Renewable Energies Fund (ABREF) since August 2007.

Anthony Bouthelier
Anthony Bouthelier is Executive Chairman of the French Council of Investors in Afrique (Conseil Francais des Investisseurs en Afrique - CIAN), a professional non-profit organization. He is also Board Member of the Agence Fran?aise de Développement (AFD) and Director of several African companies.
In 1974, he went to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to run Pechiney’s West African subsidiaries. In 1994, he became head of the Africa division of Aluminium Pechiney and was appointed Board Member of the Pechiney Group in 1996. Meanwhile he joined the Board of CIAN of which he became Secretary-general in 1998 and Executive Chairman in 2005. Anthony Bouthelier trained at the Université de Paris – Faculté de Droit (Economics), the Institut d'Etudes Politiques, the Ecole Nationale des Langues Orientales (Hindi – Urdu) and in Lahore, Pakistan, at the Oriental College of Panjab University. He has been made Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur and the Ordre National du Mérite (France) and Chevalier of the Ordre National Ivoirien (Ivory Coast). |

Baroness Lynda Chalker
Baroness Lynda Chalker of Wallasey was formerly a British politician and Minister from 1974 to 1992. Before this she was employed at Shell and BP before entering the UK Parliament. In 1997 she founded the Africa Matters Limited which is a unique and growing business consultancy focused on supporting commercial expansion and development in Africa and provides advice and assistance to companies initiating, developing or growing their activities in the regiondesign. Baroness Lynda Chalker is also Member of the Global Leadership Foundation, an organisation which works to promote good governance around the world. She headed the British delegation which participated in the first Tokyo International Conference on African Development in October 1993 and served on the Advisory Board of Merchant International Group and the Africa Advisory Board of Renaissance Capital.

André Dellevoet
Mr Dellevoet, from The Netherlands, holds a Masters in Law from Maastricht University (the Netherlands) and a Masters Degree in Political Science from Leiden University (the Netherlands). He joined AECF, which is hosted by AGRA, in October 2008 as its Executive Manager. Mr Dellevoet is an expert in private sector development and economic growth, good governance and leadership, corporate social responsibility and ethical business, and development cooperation. He began his career in the Dutch diplomatic service in 1991, working mostly on African affairs, economic growth and development cooperation. He has served as a Member of the Board of Pugwash, The Netherlands, on the North-South Advisory Committee to the Members of Parliament of the Dutch Labour Party, on the Board of the Dutch National Commission for Sustainable Development, on the Board of The Netherlands-Africa Business Council, and as the Chairman of the Board of Fair Pen Foundation, The Netherlands. Mr Dellevoet served as Deputy Head of Mission at The Netherlands Embassy in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo from 2006 to 2008. |

Eric le Grange
Eric le Grange is a director at ENS (Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs) and has 19 years experience. He practices as an attorney in the projects department. He specialises in energy, oil and gas (including renewable energy and mining.

Glenn S. Hodes
Glenn works on strategic policy advisory in the area of climate change finance and CDM, currently managing the Africa Carbon Asset Development Facility (ACAD), a partnership between UNEP, the German Government (BMU) and Standard Bank, the Secretariat of which is based in Johannesburg. Glenn’s areas of expertise include the technical appraisal of renewable energy and carbon investment projects in developing countries, the design and analysis of effective policies for promoting clean energy, as well as over 10 years of practical project management and consulting experience related to carbon trading. He has extensive first-hand experience working in Subsaharan African countries on projects involving the environment, energy, and development nexus.
Prior to starting at UNEP Risoe in January 2006, Glenn worked for the World Bank in Washington, D.C. in its Carbon Finance Unit as well as in its Africa Sustainable Development (ESSD) Group on, CDM project origination and deal management, capacity building programs, and WB/GEF operations in Africa in the environment sector. He was also a consultant for the Africa Energy unit on biomass energy policy, and was a lead author of a discussion paper analyzing the feasibility of intensifying ethanol production in Africa. Glenn has resided in South Africa, where he managed an audit of energy saving opportunities for the city of Johannesburg, helped to design and implement a carbon investment project in low-income housing developments, and evaluated the carbon investment impact on wind and solar electrification projects. He has held shorter-term positions at, or consulted to, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), E+Co., GE Capital, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the Overseas Development Council, and the Energy Research Centre of the University of Cape Town.
Hodes holds a Masters degree in International Development, Energy & Environmental Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School of Princeton University and a Bachelor’s in International Politics & Economics from Columbia University. |

Dr. Asha-Rose Migiro
Dr. Asha-Rose Migiro of Tanzania took office as Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations on 1 February 2007. She is the third Deputy Secretary-General to be appointed since the post was established in 1997. Dr. Migiro served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from 2006-2007. Before that, she was Minister for Community Development, Gender and Children for five years. Dr. Migiro was also Chair of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Ministerial Committee of the Organ on Politics, Defense and Security Cooperation and President of the UN Security Council during its open debate on peace, security and development in the Great Lakes Region. As Chair of the SADC Organ, Dr. Migiro was a member of the Faculty of Law at the University of Dar -es-Salaam, where she rose to the rank of Senior Lecturer. She headed the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law from 1992 to 1994, and the Department of Civil and Criminal Law from 1994 to 1997. Her work was published widely in local and international journals. Dr. Migiro served as a member of Tanzania’s Law Reform Commission in 1997 and as a member of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women in 2000. Dr. Migiro obtained a Master of Laws from the University of Dar-es-Salaam in 1984 and a Doctorate in law from the University of Konstanz in Germany in 1992.

Dr. Richard Munang
Dr. Richard Munang holds a PhD in Environmental Change & Policy from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. He is currently the United Nations Environment Programme Policy Advisor for the Climate Change Adaptation & Development (CC DARE) programme. He specializes in societal and ecosystem-based adaptation and has conducted several assessments to understand how climate change affects agro-ecosystems and how adaptation strategies and policy can be formulated to reduce impacts. As of recent his focus has been on the role of adaptation in developing country-specific low-carbon economy, the green Economy and sustainable development objectives such as food security and translating Adaptation into Practical Business Strategy.
Prior to joining UNEP, Richard worked as the core coordinator with the Advancing Capacity to Support Climate Change Adaptation (ACCCA) project in sub Saharan Africa. His other experience includes working as a Research Fellow at Trinity College, University of Dublin, and a lecturer at the University of Nottingham. He has participated in a wide variety of research projects and has published more than 30 articles in international peer reviewed journal

Dr. Johnson Nkem
Johnson N. Nkem holds a PhD in Natural Resource Management from the University of New England, Australia. His activities cut across varying ecosystems, climatic regions including the Arctic and Antarctica, and varying land uses and management practices ranging from small-scale subsistence systems to large-scale intensive practices. Most recently his activities focus on climate change measures in adaptation and transition to low carbon and climate resilient development. Johnson worked as project manager for a global initiative on Tropical Forests and Climate Change Adaptation, and as project leader for the Congo Basin Forests and Climate Change Adaptation project under the Center for International Forestry Research. His other experiences include working as a research scientist at the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory, Colorado State University; the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), and the private sector with Cameroon Development Corporation, and Del Monte Fresh Fruits Company. He is presently with the United Nations Development Programme as policy advisor for the climate change adaptation and development programme. |

BOSOYE OLALERE
Mr. Bosoye Olalere has had an engaging career spanning two decades in various fields as Information and Communication Technology (ICT), infrastructure deployment, and facility maintenance & management.
He started a telecommunications career as an Intern with Nitel Plc in 1993, working on transmission networks of copper, fiber cable and domestic satellites. He later worked with Minaj System Limited as a broadcast satellite engineer and GS Telecom (now Gateway Communications) as a field engineer, providing last mile technical service and customer facing roles in VSAT designs, rollout and maintenance to leading oil and gas and the financial services companies. He later held senior technical and management positions with MTN Nigeria and Globacom Limited with technical and commercial responsibilities that directly led to the deployment of over 2000 cell sites, 5000km of terrestrial fiber and 9800km of submarine fiber transmission links. He has broad expertise in technical and commercial management and specific insights on end-to-end side of infrastructure deployments. He is currently involved in generating policy ideas for deepening service delivery and penetration of broadband multimedia solutions.
Mr. Olalere is presently an Entrepreneur and Consultant. He heads an SME with interests in project management, managed services, last mile solutions for broadband services, renewable energy, retail insurance and commodity trading, with operations in Nigeria and across West Africa. He holds a bachelor of engineering degree in electrical& electronics, an MBA in technology, marketing and business strategy. An alumni of Manchester Business School, UK; he is also a member of Ikoyi Club 1938. |

Michael Page
Mr. Page started Princeton Solar Solutions, LLC in 2009 after spending two years as Principal Project Manager of SunPower Corporation’s East Coast Division where he was responsible for the development, design and construction management of some of the nation’s largest solar systems. With more than 35 years of construction and corporate management experience, Mr. Page brings a strong knowledge of both Solar and Design/Build construction and development industries to the company. In 1980 he helped form Caribbean Design Build, a full service design build construction company in the U. S. Virgin Islands before merging his company with a St Joseph, MO firm, Corporate Surroundings International and building it into one of the largest medical construction companies in the region. As Executive Vice President of International Services he was able to expand the companies reach to more than 40 countries. In 1988 Mr. Page joined the Center of Excellence at Johnson Controls, Inc where he was tasked with the development and implementation of new project management systems and procedures for the company’s Energy Performance division worldwide. He received the Chairman’s Award for Excellence and served on the corporate Six Sigma team. Mr. Page held positions of President of the Houston and Galveston Texas chapters of Habitat for Humanity and President of the Galveston/Clear Lake chapter of Project Management Institute and a board member of Galveston County Historical Foundation. Currently, Mr. Page is an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Project Management Institute’s Greater Manhattan and Saint Petersburg, Russia’s chapters as well as serving as a member of the South Africa Alternative Energy Association. Mr. Page received two B. A.s from North Texas State University.

Jurgen Rigterink
Jurgen Rigterink is the Chief Investment Officer and Member of the Management Board of FMO. In 2005, Jurgen was appointed Chairman of the Management Board and Country Executive at ABN AMRO Bank Kazakhstan, the leading foreign financial institution in the country, offering investment- and commercial banking services, as well as, focused retail products.

Adam Leslie Simcock
After a successful career in the military, Adam focused on property development in the UK. This led to the rights of a panel building system (thermastructure/thermasteel) he brought to Republic of South Africa after exhibiting it at Habitat II in Istanbul in the mid 1990’s. He teamed up with the Rotch Group (second largest private property company in the UK) and together developed a low cost home loan securitization scheme for low income households in Republic of South Africa . He incorporated this into the Arms off-set program and later developed a program that would assist in the supply chain of the Rotch Group property portfolio in the UK, with JSE listed DNA supply chains and BAe systems. With an understanding of off-set and countertrade, Adam was asked to assist in the development of D1 Oils with which Rotch’s partners owned shares. Adam was instrumental in the listing of D1 Oils in October 2004 and incorporated an off-set credit program with Rolls Royce and D1. He was also the driving force behind much of D1 Oils Jatropha planting programs in Africa as well as the joint venture with the then named Stancom tobacco company in Zambia.
Adam moved on to create C3 (Climate Change Corporation) and with the purchase of coconut oil mills in Mozambique to supply the company’s associate bio-diesel refineries in the UK. He also developed together with Ernst & Young a carbon credit program through a fuel switch project at these mills. C3 Mozambique Lda won best industrial company in the country in 2007. |

Neil Upton

Jay Wileman
Jay Wileman was appointed Africa Region Executive for GE Energy in June, 2009. In addition to this role, Jay also leads the global strategy for the mining industry across all GE businesses.
Since joining GE in 1994, Jay has held positions in engineering, manufacturing, industrial services, and financial services in the U.S., Japan, Italy, and Australia. Prior to assuming the Africa Region Executive and Global Mining role, Jay was the President and CEO of GE Equipment Services - Rail Services, where he managed and led the business’ railcar and intermodal services and leasing fleet. Prior to that, Jay served for four years as General Manager for Global Services for Oil and Gas in Florence, Italy where he led double-digit growth in customized service agreements. Additionally, he drove the development of conventional services into technology-based solutions for a worldwide customer base.
Jay also has extensive experience in our Nuclear business where he spent over 8 years in progressively larger positions in engineering, manufacturing, business development, and services.Jay was a nuclear fuel engineer and commercial manager for Southern Company before he joined GE.
